Dale it is legal, I personally know the pro's are using them and I am very good friends with allot of them and with there approval I got one, cause they say they work and that they would never fish another tournament without one!!!

I'm not sure its a gimmick or just some ploy to take a few more Dollars from Anglers. I have spoke with a couple pros using them and they s feel like it has made a difference. What i do believe is it takes a little time research and effort for it to make a difference. But that really isnt any different than most any other TOOL on the market designed to give an edge. Just my 2 cents.

I don't know if two trips is an adequate sample size, but that's an interesting observation, nonetheless.

What setting are you using when you're around the feeding fish?

Of course it's not enough of a sample size. I've been using all the shad sounds, both on 30 second pause/loop and continuous play.

Just like anything new to the sport it can be viewed as being a gimmick. Powerpoles didn't go over like crazy at first until people saw the benefit same with the side imaging. People had to see for themselves and I think people will see the benefit overtime. It might be when they get in someone elses boat and see the stuff that happens on a daily basis. One of the few things I tell people in every type of hunting there is some technique we use to "call" game in or get there attention. Since we can't hear what goes on under water we are skeptical. It seems that in nature we would use the same technology and apply it under the water as we would when we hunt. Just something to think about.

If I remember correctly Biosonics were pretty high price wise, at around $400.00 I think it will be more affordable to a larger audience that the biosonics unit was. I think that alone could help sales and carve it out a place in the market.

I love this thread. Its really cool after being a member of the Forum for so many years to have a thread about something I'm doing. I wanted to clear up a few misconceptions regarding the HydroWave. I'm not being defensive so please don't take this wrong.
1) Yes, KVD had one on his boat at the All Star event. However, so did every other angler except for Skeet Reese who was running his old Biosonix.
2) Its not going to get you 1st place in a tournament. You have to do that. Its just a tool.
3) Its not a gimmick. I could never associate my name with a gimmick nor could KVD or Kriet. Its not always about the money.
4) I was already retired when I started the company and plan to stay that way. If and when the company sells it is my intention is to give the Glory to God and give the money away. I did this mainly because I wanted one, I knew it worked and for fun.
5) The unit is priced at a very conservative profit. I wanted all fishermen to be able to afford it.
6) Fishermen are my circle of friends and I would never betray their trust by trying to push a gimmick out there to "Catch Fishermen".
7) Biosonix did not discontinue producing product because it did not work. There can be many other reasons for businesses to discontinue operating.
8) Our units do not compare with Biosonixs nor did we attempt to copy their technology.
Sorry for such a long reply but I feel like I owed it to my buddies on the TFF.

The Hydrowave is only around $11.00 cheaper. Not many people are willing to fork out $400.00 for a product that they are unsure about. That's probably why the biosonic did not take off. The Robert Earl Keen Cd is cheaper. smile

Since it seems everybody is getting one I'll just hold off. I'll just start fishing within casting distance of everyone that has one and cast dirctly at their trolling motor with a DD22 or C-rig. popcorn2

Great point. I wished I would have had one at the last tournament when schooling fish came up. That might have kept them in our area longer.
